2026 PM Training

The first session of the 2026 PM Training Program will convene in March 2026. If you'd like to join the waitlist for this program, please reach out.

The Project Management Training Program is designed by the Oʻahu Metropolitan Planning Organization (OahuMPO) for local government employees who manage small-scale and federally funded transportation projects. This program helps to build confidence in leveraging federal funds to improve Hawaiʻi’s transportation systems. This eight-month, once-a-month program for planners and engineers combines hands-on in-class group activities, presentations from experienced practitioners, and field trips led by project managers to active project sites. Participants gain practical skills in project planning, budgeting, and contract management, while seeing firsthand how transportation projects are delivered.

2026 Mobile Workshop

The first session of the 2026 PM Training Program will convene in March 2026. If you'd like to join the waitlist for 2026, please reach out.

This training program culminates with a peer exchange tour, offering the opportunity to observe and discuss best practices from other cities. The Mobile Workshop is a professional learning program that brings Hawaiʻi-based transportation professionals and students to cities across the country to explore innovative transportation projects. Through site visits and discussions with local agencies, participants see real-world examples of how projects are planned and implemented, allowing students to apply what they learn in the classroom and inspiring new ideas that can be brought back to Hawaiʻi.
