  • The Urban Mobility Hub Planning Study is evaluating potential mobility hub locations, amenities, and feasibility across Urban Honolulu to advance projects to the next phase.

Launched in May 2024 and expected to conclude in 2026, the study is a partnership between OahuMPO, the City and County of Honolulu, and SSFM International.

What is a Mobility Hub?

A mobility hub is a central, accessible location where various transportation modes are integrated into a single, cohesive network. Designed to provide "first and last-mile" connections, these hubs make it easy for users to switch between travel options, encouraging sustainable, low-carbon, and shared mobility over private car use.

Recommended Locations

Potential sites along Kapahulu Avenue, including City-owned and private properties, are being explored to improve access, manage visitor destinations, and enhance the transportation experience.

Earlier work identified two key locations for further study: the Ala Wai Golf Course Kapahulu frontage site and the State Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) recycling site.
