The Oahu Metropolitan Planning Organization (OahuMPO) is accepting comments on the Oahu Regional Transportation Plan 2050 (ORTP 2050) draft report, the federally required long-range transportation plan guiding transportation investments on Oahu through 2050.

The draft report is available online for public review throughout the public comment period from Wednesday, January 7, 2026 to Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

Written comments will be accepted by email to dige@oahumpo.org, or by the online comment form at https://oahumpo.org/ortp-2050/ or by mail to the Oahu Metropolitan Planning Organization, 707 Richards Street, Suite 200, Honolulu, HI 96813.

The OahuMPO complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Language assistance and ADA accommodations are available at no cost upon request by contacting OahuMPO staff at oahumpo@oahumpo.org. Requests should be made as early as possible to allow adequate time to respond.

All comments must be received by the close of the public comment period on Wednesday, January 21 at 5:00 PM to be included in the official record.

Following the close of the public comment period, all comments will be reviewed and documented. Responses will be provided in early February, and comments received will be considered prior to adoption of the final plan.

  • Aliamanu Career Day Hears from Planners

    Staff visited Aliamanu elementary school to share what they do in their roles and the importance of transportation planning.

  • Honouliuli Middle School invites OahuMPO

    OahuMPO staff were invited by a teacher at Honouliuli Middle School to talk about transportation and sustainability. Students were working on group projects for their class and took inspiration from transportation topics!

  • OahuMPO at MidPac

    Students at MidPac heard from the OahuMPO about the intersection of transportation and climate change. Staff led students on a walk audit of Manoa and presented information on transportation planning.
